Guide To Creating Referral Links And Tracking Different Sources Using Sub-IDs
Thank you for joining the Chative affiliate program! Now, you can start optimizing your promotional strategy by using referral links combined with sub-ids. This is a simple way to track and evaluate the performance of different traffic sources such as email, blogs, or social media. Let’s explore how to do this!
Step 1: Access The Promoter Dashboard
First, access your Promoter Dashboard.
Step 2: Create A New Link With A Sub-ID
- Scroll down to the
Referral links
section on the dashboard. - Click the
+ New link
button to create a new link.
- Name your link (e.g., "blog" if you are sharing it via a blog) and assign a sub-id (e.g., "blog").
- Save the link you just created.
Note: You can freely set the sub-id to something that makes sense to you and helps identify the source of traffic. Examples include: "email", "social-media", or "newsletter".
Step 3: Use The Link With The Sub-ID
Once created, you can use this link to share across different platforms. Here's how the link will look:
Original link:
https://chative.io?ref=abc123
Link with sub-id:
https://chative.io?ref=abc123&fb_sid=blog
As you can see, while the structure of the original link remains the same, the sub-id is different and helps you distinguish between traffic sources. This allows you to track the effectiveness of each source and optimize your promotional strategy.
Step 4: Track The Performance Of Sources
To track the results, simply go to the "Reports" section in the Promoter Dashboard. Then, look for the "Sub-Ids" section. Here, you’ll find detailed information on the number of clicks, referrals, and customers for each sub-id you created.
This helps you identify which traffic sources are performing best, allowing you to optimize your promotional strategy and increase revenue.
