How to Enable Chative Live Chat on a Shopify Store

You can add live chat to your Shopify store in two ways:

  1. Enable live chat by linking Chative with your Shopify store
  2. Manually install chat script to your Shopify store

Installing live chat using Javascript code eliminates the need to connect the Chative app to your store. However, this method restricts access to Shopify information within Chative, such as orders, Shopify customer profiles, and shopping carts.

Enable live chat via Chative for your Shopify store

This method requires you to connect Chative with your Shopify store. If you haven't completed the connection steps, please refer to the detailed guide here.

After connecting the Chative app to your Shopify store, follow these steps to activate Chative's live chat widget:

Step 1: In the navigation bar, navigate to Add-ons and select the Shopify add-on.

Step 2: At the connected store where you want to enable live chat, click on Connect channel.

Step 3: Choose a channel to connect your Shopify customers.

You have the option to enable the live chat widget, Facebook Messenger widget, or Zalo widget on your Shopify store.

  • To customize the widget with your branding, refer to this article on theme settings.
  • To enable Facebook Messenger widget, connect your Facebook page to Chative. See this guide for detailed steps.
  • Make sure your Chative organization is connected to your Zalo official account (OA). Check out this article for instructions on linking Zalo.

Step 4: Once the store is linked to the channel, live chat will be activated on your store.

Congratulations! Chative live chat is successfully added to your store. Customer profiles and orders will be visible in the customer sidebar when they contact you.
