What is live chat? How to add live chat to your website

Adding live chat is a great way to connect with your visitors and offer instant support. With just a few quick steps, your chat widget will be up and running!

What is Live Chat?

Live chat widget is a small window that appears on your website, allowing visitors to start a conversation with a single click.

In the Channels section, you’ll find 3 types of live chat you can install:

  • Live chat widget mode
  • Form Chat mode
  • Landing chat mode

Go to Channels in the navigation bar to start setting up.

You must be the account owner, admin, or an agent with the "Edit channels" permission to configure these options in the channels. See definitions of owner, admin, and agent in the Glossary

How To Add Live Chat

To add live chat to your website, simply copy the widget script provided and paste it into your website’s source code. For more details, follow these steps:

Step 1: In your system, navigate to Channels > Select the channel > Installation.

Step 2: Enter your website URL in the Website section.

Step 3: Click Save to apply the changes.

Step 4: Copy the code in the Copy code section.

Step 5: Open your website's source code and paste the copied code right below the `<body>` tag.

Step 6: Click Save to apply the changes.

That's all it takes! Live chat will now be activated and ready to enhance user interactions on your website. 🚀
